Sassan Azad is an experienced Certified Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), who received his M.Sc. in Clinical Biochemistry from Iran University of Medical Sciences, as well as a certification in Clinical Epidemiology from Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. His role as Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is to establish and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in both Pharma/Biotech and Academia.
Sassan has extensive experience working with a broad range of industries and clients, providing effective process improvement strategies and support the clients through regulatory submissions.

Azar received her medical laboratory doctorate and her Ph.D. in clinical biochemistry. She worked as Assistant Professor and director of the research laboratory in the Center of Cardiovascular Disease. She started her Post-doc training at the University of Toronto with a major focus on angiogenesis and revascularization in the cardiovascular system, evaluating molecular pathways. She accepted the role of Co-Director for the Banting and Best Diabetes Center (BBDC) Core Laboratory and joined the pathology and laboratory medicine department at Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) soon after. Azar joined the scientific staff at MSH and UofT, and as the business development officer supported the incorporation of Mount Sinai Services Inc. (MSS), a for-profit company spun out of MSH. Her leadership and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in helping MSS to grow into a successful and profitable organization. She has provided vision, strategic direction, and exceptional business development acumen. Azar led the MSS team in securing ISO 15189 certification – a first for a Canadian research lab (per IQMH). In 2015 their second company, iTP Biomedica Inc. has been incorporated. Azar was one of the cofounders and the Chief Operating Officer. Azar is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has regulatory certifications as an auditor for medical devices and ISO. She has a track record of achieving FDA and Health Canada approval for medical devices and assay/platforms. As a serial entrepreneur, Azar started A.I. VALI Inc. in 2017, offering AI computational analysis for medical images, including endoscopy video streams and tissue Image Mass Cytometry (IMC). She joined the AzadMedica team as the managing partner in 2018.
